Odd man out

The vacations we have done for the past few years have been with my wife’s best friend from high school and her two kids. Her friend’s husband was also a school mate, so there is plenty of old history, old jokes, old times, and so on. I like them and their nice people, etc, but after the kids go to bed and it’s just the adults, I frequently feel like the odd man out.

While over the years I have learned some of the history, etc, I still feel like a bit of an outsider.
