All Out War in the VoIP Industry

First, AT&T CallVantage lowers their monthly rate from $34.95 to $29.99. A few hours later, Vonage announces that it will lower its price for unlimited US/Canada calls to $24.99, upgrading existing customers on their $24.99 regional plan to the unlimited plan free of charge. Even later, Broadvox Direct lowered their price on its Residential Unlimited plan to $19.95, providing an upgrade for people on their $19.95 Residential Limited plan to the unlimited as well. All of these prices changes are affected October 1st.

It will be interesting to see if companies like Packet 8, Lingo, VoicePulse, and BroadVoice adjust their offerings in any way.

At these prices, why have a regular telephone at all?
