		<description>I do this, too, somewhat, though frankly, I&#039;ve found it easier to simply download the movie via torrent rather than go through the hassle of ripping it. Isn&#039;t that sad? 

It has to do with combatting piracy, and all that jazz.</description>

It copies the DVD so regular unprotected Video-ts files you can burn with any dvd burner, it can even shrink (compress) a dual layer DVD to fit on a single lay disc.</description>
