It's also nice to be able to keep the "routing" and "switch" functions separate as I occasionally need to reset the router. Means I don't lose the DHCP lease on the computers also. I used it in various capacities - as a wifi AP for router without wireless, these days it serves in the client mode as an ethernet port for a slingbox that is a bit inconveniently located (no wired netwrok on the spot). The nice thing is that it has 3 regimes that can be configured simultaneously and flip of a switch changes between them. This means you don't have to reconfigure it each time you need to change its use. Agree DWL-G730AP is a pretty nice gadget.
