A Sound of Thunder
I had written a beautfiul blog entry that I was about to submit when Firefox up and crashed on me. It’s late and I don’t feel like recreating it. Maybe this more succinct version will be better.
A recent slashdot article about the Ray Bradbury short story A Sound of Thunder being turned into a film got me to have a look at this story once again. Like many geeks of my era, I spent time reading some of the works of Ray Bradbury during my childhood.
This story reminded me of the simple truth that a single action, no matter how insignificant it might seem to you, can have a profound impact on the lives of others. A simple, kind and sincere act that you might forget years from now might be the very thing that redefines another person’s existance years into the future — and they will never forget it either. The same can be said for an accidental act, or even a malicious one. All actions you take can have an impact on others.
Thread lightly in this world.
