Update to Nokia Lifeblog/WordPress Tool
Some time ago, I found a script that allowed you to post to a WordPress blog from Nokia’s Lifeblog/Online Share application. I hacked it to make it work and made it available for all to see and use. The biggest request I had with it: add support for posting videos.
I had to fix a couple of problems brought on by WordPress 2.3 (database schema changed) as well as a couple of other issues I hadn’t accounted for. The end result: a version of the tool that works on WordPress 2.3 and theoretically supports posting videos. I had mixed results myself, but give it a try and let me know how it works. All the details for how to use this script are in the old post, which has been updated with this information as well as a Known Issues list.

I am sorry but after 2 full days looking for the answer, the only resting me was contacting you.
For half a year i was using lifeblog from suppengabel and wordpress in working order, but from one day on another it wasnot working anymore.
Soooo i found your lifeblog.php and i switched to wordpress 2.3.1. No i dont have that strange error on the password and login anymore but another one i cant find the solution for.
when posting my phone keeps saying (from dutch to english: item will be posted/is to be posted 1/1
there was also a thumbnail in the same directory but not anymore. the same errors i also had in 2.3 before switching to 2.3.1
then i take a look in de wp-content/uploads i see the picture uploaded (i can even download and see it). but it will not be posted on my blog.
everything is oke, password en login are the same on my phone, lifeblog.php and in wordpress (all the same).
in earlier days
i made the name of the category the same as i have in my blog with a post under it.
I use a nokia n95 with firmware V12.0.013
wordpress is version 2.3.1 (the latest)
atomdata.txt is attached.
I hope you can help me out it drives me crazy, there has to be a solution

Looks like the Wordpress upload directory is not writable. You can use your FTP program and right click on the upload dir and make it writable (755)
It should be somewhere at
/home/yourBLOG/www/wp-content

No thats not the problem. That was the first time
but the file gets there, thats not the problem. But it goes wrong somewhere between putting the file there by the phone and doing something else (writing the blog and ending the transmission with the phone???
Because the phone keeeps saying item will be posted/is to be posted. Normale it does say that but after 10 seconds that dissapear but now it doesnt.

How are you going with wordpress 2.3.1 and the Nokia N-series on lifeblogging? I still haven’t been able to get through the “item is to be posted” mentioning on the phone. How are your experiences with it?
All settings are okay and tried several versions of lifeblog.php.

I think lifeblog has died with wordpress 2.3.3
is this confirmed or is it just me?

had same problems, but all is working again. Newest lifeblog (n95-8gb with latest firmware) and with that latest share application of OVI installed on it. Wordpress version 2.3.3. But what i discovered is that the APN on the phone was the guilty one, so i changed that to, not to use the gateways that default are set in the apn.
But another good application that works perfect (even with video, audio, links etc) is wavelog. Phoneboy wrote about it.

Ivan, yes the apn was the issue, since wordpress was done internally. all fixed now.
when posting a picture, is it possible for lifeblog to post the picture, even if it is a thumbnail to the page and not just a holder saying “lifeblogimage”

hi david, yes indeed and if you use the Lightbox 2 plugin (http://zeo.unic.net.my/notes/lightbox2-for-wordpress/) then your pictures are even lightboxed without any manual handling. Woww really good to be posting alive again

Finally got this working – my problem was that I could get the blog-list but when I tried posting it said “web server not found” – after looking trough the webserver logs – it seems the lifeblog app used the right directory for listing the blogs, but stripped the directory when posting – so i’d have a get for wp/lifeblog.php and a post for /lifeblog.php – when Wordpress was installed in a subdirectory. I finally managed to put in a htaccess-file to redirect – but that was definitely strange behaviour from the lifeblog application on my N82…

For some reason I can’t get images to post if my lifeblog optimization setting is set to no. It uploads a zero bit file and I get an error saying that the type is unsupported (not supprising since it wont match the regular expression in the .php if there aint nothing there) Has anyone else ran into this problem?
