TextQuick Makes Texting Easier

TextQuickIf you’re a heavy SMS user on a Nokia S60 3rd Edition phone, you might want to give TextQuick a look.

When you enter TextQuick, you are presented with your contact list. Instead of it being sorted in ABC order, it is sorted in the “most frequently used” order. You click on the name, type your SMS using the normal S60 editor, and send it on it’s merry way.

I am not that heavy of an SMS user, especially since I broke the Twitter addiction and started using Jaiku. This is an app I would see myself using if I used SMS more. If you’re a heavy SMS user, then an app like this would be worth the $10 USD.

Sony Ericsson phones do this for free. Actually, my old W810i does so many more things “for free” than my “N series” N73 does. When I reply to a text, it puts a nice little icon next to it, to show I replied. Everyone seems to think nokia is so top of the line, but they can’t even get little things like that right.

Nice solution indeed, but to be honest I rather use undocumented fast search/auto complete trick ;)

In older Nokia phones there was an option that let you specify a default recipient for SMSs. Unfortunately this option is not available in S60 phones.
