		<description>What&#039;s interesting is that Verizon used to not care about using unlocked phones on their network.  For a long time, places like http://www.wirelessimports.com/ sold some of the crazy Korean CDMA phones, and you could activate them on VZW no problem (you couldn&#039;t use a lot of the features, but you COULD use the phone).  Also, for a long time, VZW&#039;s phones were sold unlocked (though this didn&#039;t really matter in the U.S., since there&#039;s a lack of CDMA carriers that you could use them on).  

Now, maybe this has all changed, but i&#039;m not sure.  

Sprint, on the other hand, have always been nazi&#039;s about their network.  No non-Sprint devices have ever been allowed, and they were always locked.
