Nokia Users: Update Your Time Zone Information!

This whole “changing timezones” thing is on the top of my mind because I am helping with the messaging for some of Nokia’s products, specifically the ones under Network Security and Mobile Connectivity. With that in mind, I’m pleased to say that, at least for the Series 60 3rd Edition phones, there is a Time Zone Upgrader SIS file. This should help ensure your phone keeps the date and time correctly when Daylight Saving Time comes a couple weeks earlier than it did last year.

While I linked to the N91 version, in theory, it should be the same for all handsets. However, you can always go to Nokia’s support pages, find your model, and see if the updater is available for your specific model.

Thanks for the heads up. When I could no longer find the upgrader for my E61 I thought I was in trouble. But the upgrader for the N91 worked just fine once I remembered to restart my phone after installing it.
