Fring–Skype Calling and Chat on Nokia Phones

Filed under: nokia, telecom, voip - 28 Jan 2007 2:17

Fring! First app I’ve seen that gives me Skype functionality on my mobile phone without requiring me to run something on my Mac/PC. Chat and VoIP calling are both supported. Oh yeah, it supports Google Talk as well. Did a basic test on my Nokia E70, seems to work. Will have to play with it more later on.

It was only a matter of time before someone did this.

After reading your post I tried fring on my E60. Nice to see an application that works… Although I prefer to use SIP whenever possible some friends still use skype, so it is usefull. Anyone tried iskoot (www.iskoot.com) on their E61 (my E60 is not supported)? I would like to know what are differences netween them.
